Alarming Footage Reveals Point Police Get Knifed in Ambush

One ranking policeman that leaped to the assistance of a fellow officer that got attacked by a knife attacker has been awarded the Royal Recognition for Bravery.

Sgt Tim Ansell struggled against 27-year-old Jacob Brown after he placed a knife to the throat of his partner Sergeant Marc Foster.

Brown initiated the assault as the policemen and their colleague, PC Marcus Wolstencroft, were talking to a motorist following a traffic accident in the area in July 2023.

Brown stabbed and slashed both Sgt Ansell and Sgt Foster before Police Constable Wolstencroft stopped him with a electric weapon.

Bodyworn and dashboard camera recording made public by the agency revealed Brown, wearing in dark clothing with a hood up, rush to Sgt Foster from behind with a knife outstretched.

He ran into the officer who stumbled and went down to the street, before Sergeant Ansell jumped in and tried to wrestle him to the pavement even though being repeatedly struck with the weapon.

PC Wolstencroft deployed his electric weapon and waited for a clear shot, concluding the fight to an conclusion.

Sgt Ansell was heard stating: "Please provide something on my throat here, I'm bleeding in the throat."

Sgt Ansell received two open wounds to his neck and more cuts to his arms and torso, while Sergeant Foster experienced cut injuries.

The department reported Sergeant Foster utilized his palms to stop his colleague's bleeding before emergency responders reached the scene.

The new award arrives subsequent to the trio of policemen were granted internal Courage Honors in fall 2023 and the John Egerton Bravery Award from the regional officer association in spring 2024.
